Ten pin bowling is great fun for everybody!!

The Glasfryn Parc Bowling Centre has eight bowling lanes, a fully licensed bar and dining room serving home-made meals.

We are open from 10.00am 'til late seven days a week WITH food served until 9pm (most of the food on our menu is supplied by our very own farm and is available to buy in our Farm Shop). We have a very well stocked licensed bar (which is open until late) and separate dining area.

Tenpin bowling is a great activity for all ages. Our lanes are fully computerised and have bumpers and ramps for the younger children and those with disabilities, so everyone can play. We offer free shoe hire with all sizes being available. There is a wide selection of bowling balls to ensure all players can select the correct ball with weights ranging from 6 to 16 pounds and with different finger hole sizes so that players can select the perfect bowling ball.

At Glasfryn Parc Bowling Centre we like to make ten pin bowling easy and fun. Below are some of the words you may hear usedand also how to score.

Game. A game consists of 10 frames or turns per person. As a guide, this generally takes around an hour.

Frame. A frame is one turn.

Strike. When all 10 pins are knocked down with one ball. You get 10 points for these pins, plus the points of the next 2 balls thrown.

A Double. This is when you get 2 strikes in a row.

A Turkey. This is if you get 3 strikes in a row.

Spare. All 10 pins are knocked down with 2 consecutive balls. You get 10 points for this plus the points of the pins that the next ball knocks down.

Foul Line. This is the black line at the start of the lane.

Foul. You will receive a foul if you step over the foul line.

Gutter. This is the sections either side of the lane where the ball ends up if they come off the lane or you miss.

Please ensure you check in at the Bowling Reception around twenty minutes prior to your bowling time. This will give sufficient time to log your names on the screen, put your shoes on, etc. As a guide, one game of bowling for six people takes around an hour.
