Please
note that Glasfryn Wakeparc will re-open on Saturday 3rd March
2012.
Glasfryn Wakeparc
opened in 2010 and was the first cable wakepark to open in Wales.
There are two lakes, three system 2.0 cables, two wall rides,
several obstacles, friendly and professional staff, all the
gear, showers......in fact, everything you could need for a
great day wakeboarding, whatever your level of riding or experience.
Set in the picturesque Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, the Glasfryn
Wakeparc is the perfect venue to try your hand at wakeboarding
towed by an overhead cable. Whether you're a complete beginner
or seasoned pro. you'll have a great time wakeboarding on one
of the three Sesitec System 2.0 cables.

The wall rides are
positioned to each side of the start dock on the smaller System
2.0 meaning you can hit the walls instead of turning around.
This is the first obstacle of its kind in the UK and is only
possible since the invention of the System 2.0. The walls have
stall pipes at the top so riders can either stall or ollie out
of the top before re-entering the wall and continuing to ride.
Why wakeboard behind a
cable tow on a lake?
The perfect conditions provided by the fresh-water lake which
is protected by mature trees means that this is the ideal location
to learn how to wakeboard without having to rely on a boat or
waiting for perfect conditions at sea. The cable can be used whatever
the weather and is the most accessible way to get into wakeboarding.
The system has been engineered so that riders enjoy the benefit
of continuous riding by making a figure of eight style turn so
giving the opportunity to practice your skills without having
to stop and start.
Who can go wakeboarding?
Wakeboarding is a great sport for almost everyone. The minimum
age for particpants at the Glasfryn Wakeparc is 8yrs and you must
be a competent swimmer.
Does it matter that I have never been on a wakeboard before and
have no equipment?
Absolutely not. Wakeboarding behind the Sesitec System 2.0 is
ideal for absolute beginners as well as the more experienced rider.
Learners will find it easier to get on their feet than being towed
behind a boat ....and if you wipe out, you don't have to wait
for the boat to turn round and give you the rope to start again.
Is cable wakeboarding
a safe sport?
Your safety is our priority and we will do everything possible
to make sure that you are relaxed and comfortable and have a great
time.
Full instruction from our BWS qualified and experienced wakeboarding
pro. is given throughout each session making you feel at ease
and gradually building your confidence in a non-intimidating and
relaxed atmosphere. Wetsuit, wakeboard, vest and helmet hire are
all included and full changing facilities with showers.......just
don't forget to bring a towel.
All users will wear a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet. There
is also a safety boat on the lake, as well as first aid trained
staff.
How long do the sessions last?
Each session lasts for an hour with a maximum of four riders.
Riders need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start time
in order to give them time to get kitted up.
How much does it cost?
£20 per person for 15 minutes spread over an hour's session
with a maximum of four people per session. First session of the
day starts at 9.30am. This includes hire of equipment (wetsuit,
buoyancy aid, helmet, board) and a hot shower (please bring your
own towel). The price is the same regardless of whether a customer
brings their own equipment or not.
Do I need to book?
Booking is recommended to
avoid disappointment but you can just rock up and ride (depending
on availability).... or if you’d like to just go along to
watch and enjoy the beautiful scenery then feel free to come along.
To book your session, please call 01766 810202
or email info@glasfryn.co.uk.
I'm an experienced rider....do you have any jumps and
obstacles?

for complete beginners and experienced riders alike. There are
several obstacles, including the Leviathan rail and kicker, as
well as the O'Shea Wall Rides.
